Our History
When Joe H. Hereford (Big Joe) moved into the Attalla area in 1955, he had a vision to bring his passion of entrepreneurship and industrial recycling to the small town located in southwest Etowah County. Since then, Hereford Scrap Metals has grown to become Northeast Alabama's oldest family owned and operated scrap metal recycling facility specializing in all areas of scrap metal recycling.
Unfortunately, in 2010 we lost Big Joe unexpectedly and the family business has continued under the leadership of sons Joe W. Hereford and Tony Hereford.
